Doha University wins Qatar Universities Football Tournament title for sport season 2023-2024
University of Doha for Science and Technology team (UDST) claimed the title of the Qatar Universities Football Tournament for sport season 2023-2024 after winning the first place and signed off a tally of 16 points, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College occupied the second place ( 15 points) while Qatar University finished third with 8 points.
At the event’s medal ceremony that held at UDST playgrounds on Saturday, H.E QCSF President Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi crowned the top three winners, as UDST team received the tournament trophy and gold medals, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College finished second and seized the silver medals while the bronze medals went to Qatar University team.
H.E QCSF President, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi also honored the tournament’s best player, best goalkeeper, best scorer and partners in a festive sport environment.
UDST team member , Yousef Ismaeel named as a best player, Qatar University player, Abdulrhman Ashia won the best goalkeeper award, while the tournament top scorer award went to Ibrahim Motaab of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College.
Saturday’s victory ceremony was also attended by the QCSF Secretary General, Mr. Rashid Saeed Adiba, the QCSF board member , Dr. Salem Al-Naimi and number of the QCSF senior officials, partners and students.
The Qatar Universitis Football Tournament for sport season 2023 -2024 was organized from October 16 , 2023 to March 9, 2024, with participation of 12 teams, University of Doha for Science and technology, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College, Qatar University, Oryx Universal College ,Texas A&M University in Qatar, Lusail University, American University of Afghanistan, Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar, CUC Ulster University Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Northwestern University Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar.
Most notably, Qatar University team were winners of the title of inaugural Universities Football Tournament 2022- 2023 , following a penalty shoot-out victory over Ahmad Bin Mohammed Military College in the final game held at the playgrounds of UDST.
In a post – event statement, the QCSF Secretary General, Mr. Rashid Saeed Adiba delivered words of thanks and gratitude to all partners, he lauded their collective efforts that helped the tournament to be amazing and to prove that Qatar Universities sport is going on the right path to reaching new grounds of success and excellence.
Mr. Rashid Saeed Adiba appreciated the efforts of all active people inside the university sport system and urged everyone to keep these series of success going in the tournaments to come in this sport season 2023-2024.
