QCSF Padel Universities Tournament gets underway
The Competitions of QCSF Padel Universities Tournament for sport season 2023-2024 were kicked off at the court of University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) on Friday.
The-two day tournament is organized by the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation in cooperation with the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation and hosts (UDST) , it will run on 24th and 25th of May.
In the event’s opening games on Friday , Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College team (A) edged out Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar 6-0 , Police College recorded a 6-0 victory over Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and Police College outclassed Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College team (A) 7-5.
Closing stage, including semifinals , final and medal ceremony will be held on Saturday.
This tournament attracts male students from different Universities, colleges and high institutes, as teams are placed into three groups, Group A, Qatar University team (A), Hamad Bin Khalifa University team (A), University of Doha for Science and Technology team (A), while group B includes, Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College team (A) , Police College and Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and group C brings together, University of Doha for Science and Technology team (B), Qatar University team (B), Hamad Bin Khalifa University team (B) and Hamad Bin Khalifa University team (B).
QCSF keeps its best effort to put its key message in place by Enhancing sports activities for male and female students in higher education institutions in the country.
Padel is a sport that mixes the best elements of tennis and squash. A Padel court is smaller than a tennis court. It is one of the most popular sports in the world as it turned into one of loving-sports to Qatari youth over recent years.
