The General Assembly of the Arab University Sports Federation approved the agenda of its championships for the year 2025, which included holding 4 championships distributed across the Arab country from February to December 2025, in addition to a group of other championships and events.
This came during the third General Assembly meeting in the fifth session of the Federation, which was held today, Thursday, in Dubai, headed by Dr. Saeed Hamad Al Hassani, President of the Federation, and attended by representatives of 15 Arab countries.
The meeting discussed a group of topics related to the development of Arab university sports and ways to advance them to reach the best international levels.
In detail, the agenda included the activities, events and competitions of the Federation for the year 2025, which included the Beach Volleyball Championship hosted by the Sultanate of Oman next February, the Arab University Table Tennis Championship in Syria in September, and the Taekwondo Championship in Jordan in November, while the UAE will host the Third Zayed Futsal Championship in December 2025.
Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq and Qatar submitted several proposals to organize the second university student forum for Arab university students and the scientific conference, and organize a program for Arab university sports ambassadors. The meeting also discussed holding an Arab Summer Games Championship every two years, similar to the “Universidad” held by the International University Sports Federation.
The meeting concluded by listening to the report of the Royal Moroccan University Sports Federation to host the third Arab University Beach Games tournament scheduled to be held in the city of Agadir during the period from October 23 to 27.
Dr. Saeed Hamad Al Hassani stressed that the Arab University Sports Federation, since its establishment in 2002, has been making great efforts to enhance the level of this broad sector and raise it to the best levels, while strengthening the bonds of cooperation between its members and Arab university students.
