QCSF all set to organize Universities Football Tournament in May
The technical committee of Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) has conducted on Wednesday at the Qatar Olympic Committee building the draw ceremony of inaugural 2023 Universities Football Tournament to be held from May 3 , with participation of ten teams.
This inaugural edition of Universities competition in the most popular game worldwide will bring together ten teams, AFG Afgcollege with University of Aberdeen, University of Doha for Science & Technology, Police College, Qatar University, Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College, ORYX University College in partnership with Liverpool John Moores,, , CUC- Ulster University, Community College of Qatar, Police institute and Qatar Aeronautical Academy.
The draw result has distributed the teams into two groups, group A, includes AFG Afgcollege with University of Aberdeen, ORYX University College in partnership with Liverpool John Moores, Police College, Community College and Qatar Aeronautical Academy , while group B includes, Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College, Qatar University, CUC-Ulster University, Police Institute and University of Doha for Science & Technology.
Any team will face all its group three opponents in Round Robin Format, as the group leaders and runner-up will qualify to knockout stage. The technical committee has delivered exhaustive explanation on all technical and organizational details of the tournament.
Wednesday’s draw ceremony was attended by the technical committee members and teams representatives, as the tournament is decided to be run at Qatar University stadium, University of Doha for Science & Technology stadium and Police College stadium.
In a post -draw ceremony statement, the QCSF Secretary General, Mr. Rashid Adiba has applauded the high education institutions’ amazing turnout to be integral part of this sixth tournament in the QCSF’s calendar for 2022-2023 sport season.
“ We will keep working hard with best effort to make our local sport activity plan of 2022-2023 season and our ambitious strategy come true , we will spare no effort to achieve our goals, messages and vision for which the QCSF was established” added Mr. Adiba.
