The QCSF University Futsal Tournament for the 2024-2025 sports season concluded on Wednesday evening. Organized by the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) in collaboration with Qatar University (the host institution), the tournament took place from March 8 to March 19 at Qatar University’s sports Arena.
During the awarding and closing ceremony, H.E Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi, President of the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation, accompanied by Mr. Rashid Saeed Adiba, Secretary-General of the Federation, honored Qatar University as the host institution. The award was presented to Dr. Mohammad Shahin Al-Kuwari, Associate Vice President for Student Life and Services Office at Qatar University.
H.E QCSF President and QCSF Secretary-General also presented special awards in the men’s Tournament. Imad Fayez (Qatar University) was named the tournament’s Best Player, Mansour Mohamadu Jaya (Lusail University) won the Top Scorer award, and Talal Mohammed Khawar (Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College) was recognized as the Best Goalkeeper.
H.E Dr. H.E Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi, alongside Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al-Thani, President of the Qatar School Sports Federation, crowned the top three teams in the men’s competition. The awards were presented in the presence of Professor Dr. Nidham Hindi, President of Lusail University, who handed over the tournament trophy and gold medals to the Lusail University team. Brigadier General Mohammed Ali Al-Fadala, Commander of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College, awarded the silver medals to the runner-up, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College, while Lieutenant Colonel Abdulrahman Al-Suwaidi, Deputy Commander of Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College, presented the bronze medals to Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College, which secured third place.
In the women’s competition, Doha University for Science and Technology clinched first place, Qatar University secured second place, and Georgetown University in Qatar claimed third place.
A total of nine teams competed in the men’s tournament, divided into two groups. Group A included Police College, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College, Lusail University, and Qatar University. Group B comprised Doha University for Science and Technology, the Malaysian University in Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, the Global Institute for Studies, and Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College. Meanwhile, the women’s competition featured participation from several prestigious universities in Qatar, including Qatar University, Doha University for Science and Technology, and Georgetown University in Qatar.
At the conclusion of the tournament, Mr. Rashid Saeed Adiba, Secretary-General of the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation, stated: “The University Futsal Championship is one of the most significant sporting events that the Federation is keen to organize, given its wide participation and intense competition among universities and colleges. This championship holds special importance as it is not just a local tournament but a gateway to continental and international competitions. The winning teams earn the opportunity to represent Qatar in the Asian University Futsal Championship, organized by the Asian University Sports Federation, and subsequently, the FISU World Futsal Championship, held annually at the international level.”
Mr. Adiba added: “This tournament is more than just a contest for titles; it is a platform for discovering and refining talents, strengthening the presence of Qatari university sports on regional and global stages, and supporting our ambitious vision of elevating student competitions to a higher level of professionalism and excellence.”

The 2024-2025 University Volleyball Tournament for male and female students concluded on Wednesday evening, after an exciting competition held from February 2 to 12 at the Doha University for Science and Technology arena and Qatar Foundation courts.
In the thrilling final, male students delivered exceptional performances, showcasing their skills and determination to claim the podium. Qatar University (QU) secured the tournment title, while Doha University for Science and Technology (UDST) finished as runners-up, and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) took third place.
On the women’s side, Qatar University dominated once again, claiming first place, followed by Doha University of Science and Technology in second and Hamad Bin Khalifa University in third.
During the award ceremony, H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi, President of the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF), alongside Dr. Angela Flowerday, Vice President for Student Affairs at UDST, crowned the top three women’s teams. Dr. Mohammad Shaheen Al-Kuwari, Vice President of Qatar University, joined His Excellency in honoring the top three teams in the men’s category.
Additionally, Mr. Rashid Saeed Adiba, Secretary-General of QCSF, recognized the Qatar Volleyball Association for its exceptional organizational and technical contributions. He also honored Qatar Foundation and Doha University of Science and Technology as the official hosts of the tournament.
Individual Awards: Mr. Adiba presented the following individual awards: Best Player: Abdullah Sameer (UDST), Best Blocker: Mostafa Al-Taif (QU), Best Spiker: Hussein Diab (UDST), In the women’s category:Best Player: Huda Mubarak (QU), Best Blocker: Maya Al-Taji (UDST), Best Spiker: Diana Crislin (QU).
The tournament saw participation from several prestigious institutions, including Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar University, Doha University for Science and Technology, and Texas A&M University.
Reflecting on the tournament’s success, Mr. Rashid Adiba, QCSF Secretary-General, praised the outstanding technical and creative performances of the students. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all organizers, referees, and supporting institutions, emphasizing that this collective effort played a key role in elevating university sports to new heights of excellence and distinction.

The curtains came down on Tuesday on QCSF University Padel Tournament for the 2024–2025 sports season, held on January 27 and 28 at Qatar Foundation Dome and Doha University for Science and Technology arena.
The final day featured exceptional performances in the men’s competitions, where Lusail University Team B secured first place, Qatar University Team B came in second, and Lusail University Team A clinched third place.
In the women’s competitions, Qatar University teams A and B shone, claiming first and second place, respectively, while Doha University for Science and Technology secured third place.
Dr. Senaid Salem Al-Marri, a board member of the QCSF , alongside Mr. Hamad Al Shiba, also a board member of QCSF , awarded the top three teams in the men’s competitions and honored a representative of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, and Badminton Federation for their organizational, administrative, and technical contributions to the Tournament . The host institutions, Doha University for Science and Technology and Qatar Foundation, were also recognized for hosting the event.Ms. Amina Al-Kaabi, Head of Women’s Athletics section at QU, crowned the winning teams in the women’s competitions.
It is noteworthy that the QCSF organized the University Padel tourment (for men and women) for the 2024–2025 sports season in collaboration with the Qatar Tennis, Squash, and Badminton Federation, Qatar Foundation, and Doha University for Science and Technology.
The tournament saw participation from several higher education institutions, including Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar University, Doha University for Science and Technology, Lusail University, and the Community College of Qatar.
Dr. Senaid Al-Marri emphasized that padel contributes to promoting sports sustainability, noting its growing popularity among Qatari youth. He highlighted its added value in encouraging students to adopt a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
